Additional (Multiple) Rate Plans Support
Push a second (or third or Nth) rate to your PMS — automatically calculated from main DIAMO rate, with a markup (or discount) that can change by season.

What this feature does

DIAMO already sends an optimized price to PMS every pricing cycle. Additional Rate Plans let you send a second rate at the same time — one that is derived from main DIAMO rate by an adjustment you choose and that adjustment can be different for each season.

You set it up once. From then on, every time DIAMO pushes main rate, it also calculates and pushes the additional rate — no manual work per day, per room type, or per season.

A common example: a property that wants its OTA rate marked up +15% in summer and +40% in winter, so they can run aggressive OTA promotions off a higher published rate. With Additional Rate Plans, that's two numbers in one screen — DIAMO handles the rest.

Why you'd use it

  • Seasonal OTA markups — publish a higher OTA rate in low season so you can discount deeply for channel placement, and a tighter markup in high season.
  • A discount rate — a member, direct, or corporate rate that sits a fixed amount or percentage below your main rate (adjustments can be negative).
  • A parallel channel rate — any second rate that should always move in step with your optimized rate, but offset.

Because the additional rate is always calculated from your live DIAMO rate, it never goes stale — when your main rate moves, the additional rate moves with it automatically.

Before you start (prerequisites)

  1. Your rate configuration is "Same Rate for All Room Types."-  Additional Rate Plans are available in this mode. If your property is set to "By Room Type," the section will appear but be disabled with a note.

  2. The target rate already exists in your PMS- DIAMO pushes to an existing rate in PMS — it does not create rates in your PMS. If you don't already have a separate rate in PMS, create it there first. Once it exists, DIAMO will list it for you to pick.

💡 You do not need to configure anything else in PMS. DIAMO reads your existing rates automatically; you just select one and set the adjustment.

How to set it up

You configure Additional Rate Plans in Connect PMS → Rate Configuration.

Step 1 — Open the Additional Rate Plans section

On the Rate Configuration screen (below your main rate configuration), find Additional Rate Plans and select Add Additional Rate Plan.

Step 2 — Name the plan and pick the target rate

  • Give the plan a clear name.
  • Choose the target rate from the dropdown. This list is pulled directly from the rates that exist in your PMS account.

Step 3 — Choose the adjustment type

Toggle between Percent (%) and Fixed ($). This applies to the whole plan.

Step 4 — Set the differential per season

You'll see a table listing your seasons, plus an "All other dates" default row at the bottom.

  • Enter the adjustment for each season you want to customize.
  • Leave a season blank to inherit the default (see "Blank vs. zero" below).
  • Set the default row to the value that should apply to any date not in a listed season.

Worked example — base rate $200:

Step 5 — Save

Select Save Configuration. Two things happen:

  • The section locks into a read-only view and the button changes to Change Configuration.
  • DIAMO immediately re-pushes prices (for the next 12 months) so the additional rate populates in PMS right away.

To make changes later, select Change Configuration, edit and save again.

How the differential works

Percent vs. Fixed

  • Percent: additional = base × (1 + differential%). Example: $200 base at +15% → $230.
  • Fixed: additional = base + amount. Example: $200 base at +$25 → $225.

Positive, negative, or zero

  • Positive → a markup (e.g. an additional rate above your base).
  • Negative → a discount (e.g. a member rate below your base). Example: $200 at −10% → $180.
  • Zero → the additional rate matches the base rate for that season.

Blank vs. zero (important):

  • A blank season inherits the default — and keeps tracking the default if you change it later.
  • A season set to 0 is pinned to zero and will not change if you later change the default.

Minimum price protection: your property's minimum-price floor is always re-applied after the adjustment. A large discount can never push a rate below your floor.

How it behaves day to day

  • Every pricing cycle, DIAMO calculates the additional rate from that day's base rate and pushes both together to PMS.
  • Only the rates you've configured are pushed. Your base rate is unchanged, and any other rate in PMS that you haven't configured is never touched by DIAMO.
  • Manual price overrides and special events flow through automatically. If you override a night's base price, or a special event raises it, the additional rate recalculates from that new base — using that date's seasonal differential. You only manage the base; the additional rate follows.
    • Example: you override Dec 24 to $180, and December is a +40% season → the additional rate for Dec 24 becomes $252.
  • Overlapping seasons: if a date happens to fall in more than one season, DIAMO uses the highest differential among them.
  • Dates in no season use the default differential.

Editing seasons after setup

The season list in your Additional Rate Plan is a snapshot taken when you configured it. If you add or delete a season in your Pricing preferences afterward, the change is picked up the next time you open Change Configuration:

  • A newly added season appears as a blank row, inheriting the default until you give it a value.
  • A deleted season is dropped the next time you save.

This keeps your saved configuration stable — rows won't appear or disappear underneath you while the plan is locked.

Good to know / current limits

  • Available for RezStream & eviivo today; more PMSs are planned.
  • "Same Rate for All Room Types" only for now.
  • The additional rate isn't shown on your DIAMO calendar or analytics. You view and manage your base rate in DIAMO; the additional rate is calculated at push time and lives in your PMS/channels.
  • You can create more than one additional rate plan on a property.

Key terms

  • Base rate- Your main, DIAMO-optimized rate — the one already being pushed to your PMS.
  • Additional rate - The second rate DIAMO calculates and pushes, derived from the base rate.
  • Differential- The adjustment applied to the base rate — a percentage (e.g. +15%) or a fixed amount (e.g. +$25). Can be positive, negative or zero.
  • Default- The differential used for any date that isn't covered by a specific season.
  • Season- Your existing DIAMO seasons (from your Pricing preferences). Additional Rate Plans reuse them — you don't create new date ranges.

FAQ

  • Do I need to do anything in PMS? Only make sure the rate you want to push to already exists in PMS. Everything else is configured in DIAMO.
  • Will this change my main rate? No. Your base rate is pushed exactly as before. The additional rate is sent alongside it.
  • What if I want the same markup all year? Set just the default differential and leave every season blank.
  • Can the additional rate be lower than my base rate? Yes — use a negative differential for a discount rate. It will still respect your minimum-price floor.
  • How soon does it take effect? As soon as you save, DIAMO re-pushes the next 12 months so the additional rate populates right away, then keeps it updated every pricing cycle.
  • Can I turn it off? Delete the additional rate plan. DIAMO stops pushing that rate (your base rate and any other rates are unaffected).
